Uses For Oatmeal:
Warm oats can help ease arthritis pain. Try mixing two cups of Quaker Oats with a cup of hot water or you can mix with cool water and heat it up in the microwave. Let it cool to a comfortable skin temperature, then apply to hands to ease arthritic pain.
An oatmeal bath can work wonders for soothing itchy skin due to chicken pox. Blend one cup of Quaker Oats in a blender, food processor or with mortar and pestle. Cut off the foot of a clean pair of panty hose and fill it with the oat powder (this keeps it from clogging up your bath drain.) Tie a knot in the end of the panty hose and tie it around the spigot of your bathtub. Fill the tub with warm water so the oatmeal is floating in the warm tub, then soak in the tub for 30 minutes. You can then use the sack to rub over skin like a washcloth.
Oatmeal is great for relieving constipation due to its high fiber content. One cup of oatmeal contains about 8 grams of fiber. Approximately 30 grams of fiber will help to regulate movements and cure constipation so a few bowls of oatmeal will get your system back on track.
Blend some Quaker Oats into a fine powder and rub the powder over dry skin. Follow up by washing hands with cool water, dry them well and apply moisturizer.
Quaker Oats works great as a dry shampoo because it is a natural oil absorber. Simply apply some dry oats to your hair, work it through your hair with your fingers and then comb or brush out.

There are a couple of ways you can use Quaker Oats when it comes to facials. The oats when mixed with yogurt can help reduce pores, when mixed with honey can help draw out excess oils or the oats used alone with water can be used as a facial scrub. Here are the different recipes for each.
Facial # 1 – Quaker Oatmeal and Yogurt
For this facial be sure to use the original version of Quaker Oatmeal (not the flavored or quick cook varieties).
Blend 2 tablespoons of oats into a powder using a blender, food processor or mortar and pestle. Then add 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt. Stir the contents together and place in the refrigerator to cool for a few hours. Apply the mixture heavily to your face. Leave the mask on for approximately 30 minutes, then rinse with cool to lukewarm water.
Facial # 2 – Quaker Oatmeal with Honey
Mix a cup of warm Quaker Oats with enough honey to thicken the mixture into a paste, then apply it to your face. (Make sure it is warm, not hot.) Keep mask on your face for approximately 10 minutes, then rinse off with lukewarm water. The warmth of the oatmeal and the honey will draw the oil from your skin and the oats themselves will absorb it.
Facial Scrub – Quaker Oats with Water
Simply grind some oats and mix with a little bit of water. Then wash your face and throat with the mixture. Follow up by rinsing with lukewarm water, dry your face and moisturize.
