Uses for French’s Mustard


French’s Yellow Mustard is a staple in so many homes because it enhances the flavor of so many delicious things such as Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Pretzels, Deviled Eggs, and other meals. Did you know however that it has medicinal qualities as well? Read on to find other uses for mustard.

Uses For Mustard:




Arthritis

French’s mustard works well for easing arthritis pain in hands. Simply rub some mustard onto your hands for relief. (Caution: some people are allergic or very sensitive to mustard so be sure to try on a very small patch of skin first. Leave for 5 minutes and be sure there is no skin reaction.)

Chest Congestion

Mustard works great as a Chest Decongestant. Rub some mustard on your chest then cover with a cloth that has been dipped in hot water. Within a few minutes you will feel the phlegm in your chest begin to break up and you will begin to feel immediately better.

Facial Mask

French’s Mustard can also do wonderful things for your complexion. Simply spread a thin layer of mustard on your face, leave for 2 or 3 minutes, then gently wash off. It will leave your skin glowing. (Caution: Be careful however if you have sensitive skin. Try on a very small patch of skin first to ensure there is no reaction before applying to entire face.)

Foot Soother

Mustard also works well for tired feet. Simply add 2 tablespoons of French’s Mustard into a basin of hot water. Then soak your feet for approximately ½ hour. They will feel immensely better when you are done.

Mustard Bath

Mustard baths work great for soothing tired or aching muscles. French’s Mustard combined with Epsom Salt does just the trick . Simply spoon about six tablespoons of Mustard into the running bath, then throw in about a handful of Epsom salt.

Sore Throat

French’s mustard can be used two different ways when it comes to soothing sore throats. You can either make a thick paste of mustard combined with a little water. Smear some of the paste on a hot washcloth and apply to neck area for about 15 minutes. (Remove immediately if you feel any kind of burning however because your skin might be sensitive.)

Another way to help relieve sore throats with mustard is to combine mustard with a ½ cup of hot water, a spoonful of salt and some lemon juice. Mix together and let is sit for about 10 minutes to cool, then gargle with the solution. It might not be the best tasting, but your throat will definitely feel better.
